Ghanaian Players Abroad – 23-25 May, 2014: Karim Sadat announces presence; Strømsgodset get Kwarasey back

Karim SadatBy Ing. George-Patrick Bediaku (Follow on Twitter @gpbediaku)

Most of the major leagues have ended but there are still a number of Ghanaian players vital to their teams’

Black Stars goalkeeper had to return to his club Strømsgodset. Why? His club begged coach Dr. Kwesi Appiah and the GFA to bring back their trusted number one for one game since they were haemorrhaging with him being away. They had lost a game to Stabæk and were not about to risk another. Kwarasey would join the Black Stars in Holland after their home game with Rosenborg. Read on to find out how well Kwarasey did.

Former Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies attacker, Karim Sadat, has moved to Sweden to play in the second tier league, Superettan, with Landskrona. Last weekend, he made his debut, coming off the bench to provide the assist for the winner. This weekend, he scored his first goal, again coming off the bench.

Ghanaian Players Abroad – WEEKDAY WRAP – 19-22 April: Mahatma Otoo can’t stop, Nasiru scores

Mahatma Otoo, Sogndal-----------By Ing. George-Patrick Bediaku (Follow on Twitter @gpbediaku)

Mahatma Otoo went to Norway as the best player in the Ghanaian league, but suffered in his first year. This season however, he seems to have found his scoring boots as he features on the score sheet more often now. He has found the back of the net five times in the first 9 games of the season. He scored again this week.

Over in Sweden, Nasiru Mohammed has also had an injury-plagued past that has threatened to block his potential. But this season has seen him churn out good performances for BK Hacken. And to add to it, he scores too.

Sulley Muniru, younger brother of Sulley Muntari, also made an injury return in the final game of the season.

Enjoy.

Ghanaian Players Abroad – WEEKDAY WRAP – 28 April – 1 May: Accam send’s Helsingborg to final, Gyan grabs another brace, Antwi, Otoo on target

David Accam ----1By Ing. George-Patrick Bediaku (Follow on Twitter @gpbediaku)

David Accam has been making a strong claim for a break into Kwesi Appiah’s World Cup squad in these past weeks. No, not in the media. On the pitch, where it matters. He scored a great solo goal to send Helsingborg into the final of the Svenska Cupen (Swedish Cup). Pouncing on a clearance, he went on a blistering run from his own half to plant the ball in the net. And this was in the 92nd minute, after a frantic 90 minutes of play. Fantastic.

As is becoming expected of him, Asamoah Gyan grabbed yet another brace. His 8th brace of the season now sends him to 28 league goals. He is definitely ‘King’ in his Arabian kingdom.

Mahatma Otoo, thankfully, looks to have hit a good vein of scoring form. He was yet again on the scoresheet, even though his side lost.

John Antwi, another suspect, scored his side’s only goal against Zamalek, in their chase for the Egyptian League title. This marked his 11th league goal of the season.

These and more happened during the week. Enjoy.
